    Re: Normal?

    Was it called Repti-Bark, maybe? I've heard of it having some mite problems in the past.

    Do you have any cardboard or cereal boxes you can make hides out of? That tank is bare, and it's really important for them to have someplace to hide.

    Slim, where did you hear this?

    I use Repti-Bark in my carpet cage because I like heavier substrate for him so he doesn't move it around that much, but I heard (Anthony Caponetto) that cypress mulch isn't environmentally friendly...?

    I freeze my Repti-Bark in advance anyway, but still a little worrying.

    Dutch, it's been mentioned here a few times. I'm not saying I believe what's been said, but the more you hear....

    I don't know how long snake mites can live in substrate without a host, so an answer to that question might clear things up a bit. Freezing is a good idea. When I used aspen back in the day, I always froze it.

    1.0 = one male snake
    0.1 = one female snake
    0.0.1 = one snake of unknown sex

    1.2.1 = one male, two females, and one unknown
