    New Ball

Got a new ball python 4 days ago temps in the cage are holding constant humidity is a little low around 47%. Just saying hello and thanks for all the information I have found here so far. Can't wait until I can hopefully get through a first feed and begin getting to know him.

    Re: New Ball

congrats on the new ball. If you are using a tank and need to increase humidity you can either get a larger water bowl or cover some of the top of the tank with foil to try and keep the humidity up. Cant wait to here your new friend takes its first meal and that stress is gone. Hope to hear about that soon.

    Re: New Ball

I think I'm going to try and cover half the top with foil tomorrow and see if that will push it up to the correct levels. As far as the feeding goes I'm just hoping that he eats and all that stress will be gone.

47% is not bad at all. Usually you shoot for around 50% normally and 70% during shed.

    Congrats and welcome!

Welcome to BP.net! Covering half that screen top will do wonders for your humidity.

    Re: New Ball

Just wanted to let everybody know I tried feeding F/T as a first meal yesterday and he took it like a champ. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing he will eat.
