When they're little, it's almost impossible to really ID them. Indonesian, IJ and Merauke all look alike when young.

Mine is supposedly an IJ, since that's what his mother was listed as, but he has a lot of characteristics of the Merauke. It's best to wait until they're adults, or at least mostly grown, to look for the IDing features.
