UTH and aluminum tape
Hi guys,
I'm sitting infront of a ZooMed UTH trying to figure out how to attach it to my temporary tank. I got aluminum tape to tape it to the bottom of the tank. I plan to move this UTH sometime in the future when I upgrade to the bigger and final tank. So, my question is, can I leave the paper that comes with the UTH? Or will that catch on fire when the UTH is turned on???
Thanks in advance for the advice...

Stick it to wax paper and then tape it to the bottom of the tank.

Thanks Kevin! I don't have wax paper, will aluminum foil do?

I'm not sure, but I don't think foil will work. I'd just go buy some wax paper its cheap .

Re: UTH and aluminum tape
Aluminum foil will actually insulate some of the heat away from the tank. Might have to run the UTH a little hotter to get the right temps in the tank.

You can leave the original sticker backing on it. It will never get hot enough to catch on fire. Do you have a rheostat or t-stat for the uth?

Yes, I got a rheostat. Okay, I'll leave the paper on and just monitor it closely for a few days.

It will be just fine then. I am the same way all mine still have the sticker backing. Just in case I really need to stick it to something.
Good luck!
