Growth rate?
I am a bit curious. Is there an average growth rate for BPs? I ask because while I know in the wild it is important for them to get big quick, but how quickly do they normally grow?
We got our Ball near the end of December. I do not have a weight from when we first got her, but she was just a hair under 18 inches. Now less than two months later she is right at 26 inches and 311 grams. Is an 8 inch gain in length normal? We will feed her either one medium rat, or two mice (depending on what is available) a week.
Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs
"Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident."
"Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy."
"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."

Everything I have read says that growth is very different from snake to snake but, I am sure you have read that as well. I got mine on 9/14/2008 and she is just now 330 grams. I have not measured her in a while. Here is a pick after her last shed.. You tell me if she looks to be a good weight.

Re: Growth rate?
Mine is almost a year old, and she's doubled in size since I got her in April '08 (from 200g and 18 inches to now 550 g and 36 in.)
I have noticed that she has little growth spurts though - some months she gains a noticeable length/girth, and others she doesn't. It's kinda cute.
