When you say its way way to small for him, what are you basing that on. if the snake can fit through the opening and fit in the hide then its not way way to small, its could be a little too small but not way way

Do this. Imagine you had another snake that was exactly the same size as the one you have. If you could cram two of them in the same hide then its too big. When I up my hide size I go to a size that two of my snake could be shoe horned into and I up the size when I could no longer fit another snake half her size. That may seem like a weird way of thinking about it but I am kinda weird. Just remember that your snake does want lots of space it wants security. My hides leave just enough room for her to bring a mouse inside an eat it.

Here is a picture of my setup to show you the size of my snake vs the size of the hides. For the record this setup is too big, to close to a window, has too much head room, and is in a room that gets too much foot traffic. This is only a good example of hide size.
