I have had some problems gettin an accurate humidity to keep my jcp at so I just have been keepin it around 55 to 60. I was wondering if anybody out there can tell me what has worked well for them.

Re: Humidity?
With it that low from their natural habitat internal hydration is key. Make sure he/she is drinking water and mist them lightly because they will drink off of themselves.

Re: Humidity?
Remember humidity cycles are VERY important. This means it's foggy then dries up. I use anywhere from 60 to 90 percent at any given part of the day. I use tubs which are awesome with humidity! I mist every couple of days but the tub rains down on it self and drys out whatever hits the hot end. Like I said though, 55% is okay as long as the snake is drinking water. Best indicator of proper husbandry is the shed. If it's one piece you're probably doing it right. How are you reading you humidity? Dial gauge on the side of the tank or digital?

Re: Humidity?
My humidity is always around 60-75 ish, and I've only had one shed with him but it was fragmented. But I believe this was because I got him when he was in shed... so he was shipped and put in a new environment.
He's in shed right now, I'm quite excited

Re: Humidity?
Well my snake is fixin to shed for the first time since i have had it. I'm using a digital gauge on the side its suppose to be a pretty good one i have one in each of my snake cages.

Re: Humidity?
Shed really is the best indicator IMO.
