I believe an introduction is in order....

    Hi all.

Stumbled upon this website tonight and thought, now this looks like a nice little forum to spend some time in. Friendly people, great pics of some absolutely awesome looking snakes, count me in.

I have been keeping reptiles for a little more than seven years now. Ball pythons in particular for about five years. Got the first one as a birthday present for my son's third birthday, and the second for my daughter's second (couldn't help it, her first word was "snake" and she would not back away from the setups, she spends a lot of her time to this day looking into those hides). Decided recently that I want to try my hand at breeding them, and that was when I ran into my first snag!

Last vet visit (once a year for fecals and once-overs), I asked the vet to probe the little rascals for me to make sure. I was sure one was a female due to how large it was....nope, two males! lol

Now I am looking into a female and thinking yellow belly simply so that in a few years I can connive another yellow belly male out of the equation from my wife and possibly breed some ivories.

Before any breeders jump on me and tell me how much will go into breeding and all that, I know. Done it once or twice with boas before, not to mention beardies. Only trouble with the boas is the size of the litters! Figure balls add the best in terms of size and beauty of the clutches. Besides, I was raised on a farm, now live in a city, and I miss the animal husbandry stuff.

Well, that is me in a nutshell. Look forward to coming out of that shell a bit more in the future.
