My New baby. Ivory Ball Python

i have asked him. he got the snake when she was like a month old. he was told that she was leusistic, black eye, red pupil. he has had her for the past couple of months telling everyone that she was leusistic. now he hit a snag and cant take care of her anymore so he decided to let me adopt her. i guess I can take her to a reptile store and ask them to check her out.

Definately an Ivory. Black-eye Leucisitcs don't have that faint back/head pattern.

Odds are your typical pet store wouldn't have the slightest idea what it was.

definetly Ivory, but gorgeous. I would love to have one of these guys white snakes are bad @$$

thats an ivory without question. those purpleish/yellow stripe on the back will fade with time.
black eye lucys dont have the grey head or the stripe, but they can have varied amounts of yellow patches on them.
i have both snakes in question

as for the pet store i would take that snake to any pet store. either you will risk your snake getting something or risk someone wanting to steal it(it has happened)

Ivory is a different morph, completely separate from the blue-eyed and black-eyed leucistics. It is the super form of the yellowbellies

This is very true. However it is a form of Lescistic. There are different types of "Leucism" the full Lucys like the BEL and Black EL, but Pied exhibits a form as do the spiders.

i guess the evidence is pointing to an Ivory. so i am going to let the kid know but i am still happy with her

that is a matter of opinion. I have used aspen, coconut bark, and paper towels and didn't have a problem with either. I like the aspen and coconut bark because it keep and holds humidity well, but the paper towels make it MUCH easier to clean.

Did you pay for it? I think I saw where you adopted it so I assume you paid an adoption fee or was given to you for free. Hope you didn't pay Lucy prices for it.

i guess ill look around i think i may get some coconut bark, some one told me that was fine for her.
i did not pay a cent for her. the guy that i got her from is a rich kid and had to get rid of her fast, so he asked me if I wanted her. he gave me the snake and her entire habitat. the only thing that I need to pay for is her food. he told me that he paid $2000 for her.

Black eyeds go for 10k (last I saw on constrictors) and Ivories are at $4500 at NERD. I would call what you got one hell of a deal! Wish I had rich kids wanting to give away morphs...

Both of those prices are way out of date I saw Ivorys in Daytona for 1800.00.

Even so.. its a fantastic snake.
