Southern California People
Just curious where you get your supplies.
I am from the high desert(Near Death Valley)
I am wondering where you all get Cypress Mulch, Aspen Bedding and Rodent food.
I breed my own Rodents and buy frozen thawed...I Am looking for a 1 stop place anywhere in southern cali that has it all. Mazuri 6f or 9f would be nice....all items in Bulk. Equine fresh bedding? ETC. I really dont care if its a 3 hour drive from my house, In fact I am driving to Orange County next week to pick up a few ball pythons. Laguna Niguel
Any info you may have would be greatful.
OH Btw nice to meet you all, My names Daryl, ive been lurking this forum for over a year before I decided to sign up. I go to NARBC shows, and anything else available when my work schedule allows<-----Kinda a workaholic. Oh one more thing, anyone know a great vet? I have vets up here that are not herp vets, my last Vet bill for respiratory infection was close to 300$ They charge 90$ per sanke just to walk in the door. Plus $$$$$ for anything else.

Re: Southern California People
Ridgecrest.... I'll be passing through on the 395 next week (we have a condo in Mammoth)...
One of the better if not best, albeit small, places is Amazon Reptiles. They have two shops http://www.amazonreptile.com/index.html. which are within your travel route... Natch we have the usual PetSmarts etc which I only use for bedding (Aspen) and dog food.
You'll be real close to me, I am in Aliso Viejo (next to all the Laguna's - Woods, Niguel, Beach, and Hills). There are a ton of stables and I am sure Horse supply locations in OC, I am not familiar with them... nor do I know of any rodent of feed places... here is what Mazuri had specific to our area https://www.mazuri.com/Home.asp?Products=2&Opening=4
Dr Weldy is my vet for herps, Serrano Bird and Animal Hospital

Re: Southern California People
Hi Daryl,
Becky from WFR reptiles just opened a new locaton in Montclair. She breeds rats and all kinds of feeders as well as BP morphs. She should have rodent food. I get mine from a rodent breeder in the San Fernando Valley which would be much further for you.
Here is her myspace page

I will PM you her info.

Re: Southern California People
I get my aspen, rodent food and equine bedding at a place called Fox Feed in Canyon Country.
I ride dirtbikes near Ridgecrest. I can't believe that there is not a horse supply shop in your town that can special order what you need. That way you can save the gas and spend more money on snakes
First post here. This looks like a great site. Who else is from So Cal?

Re: Southern California People
OK so I found everything I need. Except a good place to get Cypress mulch....this stuff is like 7$ to 8$ a bag back east....35$ a bag here? Damn seriously someone point me in the right direction, i'm seriously thinkin of ordering a few pallets of it. Ive found many bags that claim to be cypress mulch, but when I call the manufacturer they tell me theres 15% to 20% pine in it.
I speciffically need the cypress because humidity is low here...often 10% or less. Anyone have any good idea? Or input?
