My first project was actually multiple projects. When I decided to start breeding ball pythons I made an initial purchase that included pastels, spiders, ghosts, yellow belly's and albinos.

I continue to recommend the same approach for people new to breeding; build the basics. Consider your budget and which morphs you like the most and start there. Pastels and spiders are a key ingredient to a lot of different projects so adding them into your collection is never a bad choice.

I absolutely think that ball pytons are a good project (from a business perspective). While the prices have taken a beating in recent years you can still make a business out of it or, at the very least, have a hobby that pays for itself.
