Good News and Bad News

Well the bad news is, my New Ball that i picked up Sunday started to act really weird, laying on its back and just not moving. Tounge not flickering. He didnt go into his hide or explore the cage. I called the guy that i got him from and he said to bring him and and let him check it out. Not to mention that it hadnt eaten in over 3-4 months

He decided to keep it and nurse it back to health and what not


Good news is i picked up a Het Ghost(so he says) 3 year old male. Very beautiful. I want to take some pictures, but i dont want to disturb it for a week or so while he is getting used to his new cage.


It kinda sorta matches the description on the page where it breaks down each type of snake.




Just to make sure he is comfortable, i took some dark color paper and taped it around 3 sides of his tank. He is in a high traffic area and i dont want to spook him everytime someone walks by...do you think thats a good idea?


Also i keep a tub of moist moss inside the tank, every now and then he will lay on top of that..is that something that i should be concerned with?


Other than that, my 5 month Normal is thriving very well. Her feeding response is off the charts. She trys to snatch the rat out my hand before i even get it into the tank.

He didnt say, He told me to call him in a couple of Days to get a update on the status. He said that the snake could be really stressed out and was just having a hard time adjusting. Hopefully if he can get her back to Normal health and can go back and adopt her again. Thats if i can get the approval from my g/f haha

If its that bad off i would not want it period .Sadly it will probably die

I'm glad to hear that your other snake is doing well, but why would you get a snake from someone that you don't even trust? If you can't be sure that he is telling the truth about the het, then why would you bother getting it, (or any other snake) from him?

If the snake was lying on its back it is NOT okay. The stress of a new environment could have pushed it over the edge, but something was wrong with it before you got it that caused this to happen. I would disinfect everything that came in contact with that snake and QT the other new snake far, far away from your other animals.

And a word of advice--next time, don't get a snake from this same person and don't get a snake that you know has not eaten in 3-4 months.
