Mice setup

Good luck with that setup, I didnt think I had any chewers until one day I walked in and 3 tubs had a nice hole and all them escaped! IMO those drawers would be nice if they are a little more stiff and there was no room for them to escape. Good luck and keep us posted!

going on my 5th month of them in this setup and theres NOT ONE chew mark inside the setups.

Very cool, it was about 5-6 months before I had any chew out. Just keep a close eye on them!

i Doubt ill have any problems. i watch them daily and all they do is mate sleep or eat and tear up the paper rolls

Very cool. I was in the dollar store today and actually picked up one of these with 4 drawers for my mice because I'm sick of all of the seperate containers.

i have a same idea i jst put the water tubes in the front of the drawers it was easier then having to take them off all the time and i too have been using hem for about a year and no chew outs these work really good for mice but i don't think i would use them on rats

I actually used something similar for my rats. The only chewing issue I had was on the sides of the drawers they could get to. I solved the problem by turning the entire unit upside down and putting wire mesh across the top spaces. The mesh ended up laying flush to the tops of the drawers stoping the chewing and making the drawers a litter harder to push in and out which I thought was a plus since I didn't want the rats learning to wedge the drawers open.

If you got a multiple drawer unit then you'll definitely need to mesh the drawers below the top level. Multi-drawer units have open areas above each drawer which is usually closed off by the drawer above it. I had escapees sneaking out the back of drawers when I pulled the drawer above out until I meshed everything.

I'll post pics of my drawer and how I meshed it later... I've got to charge my camera first.

never use the multi stack ones as their is a gap at the top of each drawer enough for any determined mouse to get out. one i show have no gap to escape.
