I have never known anyone to actually be swayed in their opinion because a group of people signed a petition. This is part of the reason I feel we need to become better organized. Signing an on-line petition and saying, "I did my part" is not going to stop this from becoming law. People who 'did their part' are still going to lost their right to own certain reptiles.
The other thread also illustrates the confusion of many in the reptile community: This is not about protecting animals in their native (foreign) habitat. That is the deceptive veil under which this bill is going to makes its way through our legal system. A few people in the previous thread have seen the underlying reality: this is a ban on the ownership of many exotic species, even ones that are captive bred.
