How many heat sources do you have?

How many heat sources do you have in your Ball Python enclosure?

    For those who answered one:
How do you keep appropriate temperatures for the cool zone and ambient air temperature? Or do you feel having the appropriate temperature for only the hot zone is sufficient? such that heat sources for the cool zone and ambient air temperature are unnecessary.

    For those who answered two:
Does having two heat sources automatically make the ambient air temperature appropriate? Or do you feel having appropriate temperatures for both the hot and cool zone is sufficient? such that a heat source for the d ambient air temperature is unnecessary.

    For those who answered three:
Why do you think it is completely necessary to have three heat sources? And do you notice better results in the behavior of you Ball Python when he or she has three heat sources rather than one or two?

Also, be sure to state what kind of enclosure and heat source you are using, as different methods of heating can have different results in different enclosures.

    thank you!

Re: How many heat sources do you have?

I usually use one in the summer, since the apartment stays at 80-82 degrees. In the winter I have a 1500w oil-filled heater that I use to heat the little room where my snakes are kept. I've recently turned off the flexwatt and am just heating the room to 89. I'm seeing how this affects their feeding/breeding/temperment as other breeders/keepers have been doing this also.

One heat source for the enclosure (flexxwatt or heat cable) and a heat source for the room (oil filled heater), both on thermostats.

Re: How many heat sources do you have?

Hey guys, thanks for all your replies. Unfortunately, I actually have to start a new one, because I wanted to make a poll with this thread, but you can only make a poll within five minutes the thread is created, and I went over. Sorry!

The new one is now created. It is the exactly the same, but with a poll. I don't know how to delete this thread. If someone can teach me that would be great. Or if an admin or moderator can delete this, that would be great also.
