Best way to get her humidity and temps on track, in my opinion, is to move her into a tub.

I kept my first BP in a tank and had nothing but trouble with maintainence (sp?). Moved them into tubs and it has been spot on ever since.

You can try to add bowls of moist moss... temporary measures can be bowls of moist paper towels.

Adding moist towels to the top of your tank is often suggested.... BUT... the moment those towels dry out they will actually suck moisture from the enclosure.

You can mist and even dribble a bit of water in the enclosure, but do not soak it as you can risk scale breakdown. You do not want your snake sitting in fluids ever.

If you can post pics of your enclosure that would speed it up exponentially.

And how are you measuring your humidity? Gauge/dial hydrogemeter or a digital? And if digital, which brand... and is it an indoor/outdoor (dual reading) or a single reading.

The duals have the unit and the probe.

Addendum:

Even misting is a temporary thing... your humidity will jump, then drop... spray again it will jump... then drop... you get the idea.

You want to find a solution that will maintain consistent humidity.

Try some spagnum moss or natural sea sponges they hold moisture well and will help with the humidity, I place the damp pieces of sea sponges in the hides also

your really the only one who can tell if shell be ok.
jus saying yo my snake fell three times is she gonna be ok...is kinda generic.
Is she moving around fine?? If not make a quick trip to the vet.
But noone here can tell you for a hundred percent sure if shes gonna be ok.
thats like asking yo my dog hit its head on a table...is it gonna be ok

I just put up two pics of the cage,.
Please let me know what you think.
I also put two damp paper towels over on side of the cage and
the humidity jumped to 50...i still need ten more degrees :/

um and as u can see, i have a cold temp. a warm temp. and a silver humidity
gage in the middle.

what do you think?

Hi,

To be honest the first thing that jumps out at me is you need a better way of reading temps and humidity - those round efforts are well known for being innacurate.

Try and find the acurite weatherstation (with probe) at wallmart or lowes or home depot - I think they run about $12-$14. Temp guns are great tools too for instant readings just to spot check things.

It gets a lot easier to tweak the environment once you have a reliable way of measuring the targets.

I couldn't see the saran wrap (but that's no big surprise given its transparency and my eyesight ) but have you covered the whole mesh lid apart from under the dome of the light?

We prefer to use tinfoil taped down on the outside of the mesh as it can stand up to the heat of the lamp better - plus blind scottish mods can see it easier.

With the acurite the base unit reads temp and humidity and the probe reads temp so you can move the base unit around to get a general idea of humidity and ambient temps and use the probe to get specific temps in the snakes hides.

We generally recommend two identical dark snug hides - one on the cool side and one on the warm. This lets the snake decide what temp it wishes to be without having to worry about which hide it prefers. In your pics I would replace the half log with the same type you have on the other side as half logs aren't really the best hides for them.

If this was asked before forgive me but what are you using to control the heat sources? I can see the heat lamp but do you also have an under tank heater?

Here is a pic of the unit that the blind Scotsman is talking about...



And here is a pic of it in an enclosure. The unit itself will measure your cool side temps (you want 80-84 degrees), and the probe will measure your hot side temps (90-94). As well the unit will give you a humidity reading as well.

Those stick on guages are really not worth much, same with the stick on temp gauge on her tank. You need to measure your temps at ground level as that is where the snake is.

As Del noted, let us know what your heat source is...
