    Shedding and feeding

I noticed a week and a half ago that my ball python was going into shed, the belly was pinkish, and lately looks in the later shades of shed. Ate fine last week, just wondering if I should try feeding this week if he hasn't shed yet or wait until after.

I'd wait until after shed, but that's just me. You might get some contradicting answers, but that's just my .02.

Thanks for the info. I woke up this morning and looks like he shed completely, and just in time since today is feeding day.

    Re: Shedding and feeding

I try to feed all of my ball pythons once each week regardless if they are in shed or not. Some eat, some do not. I breed rats, so if they do not eat I just put the rat back in with the others until next week.

If the snake is in shed the chance of him / her eating is lowered. Some still eat though. If you are feeding live and have somewhere to keep the rat if it is not eaten, then go ahead and try. If you don't have somewhere to keep the rat, then don't attempt it. If you are feeding f/t, then go ahead and try.

    Hope this helps.
