wrinkled eye caps
My bp just shed, and I noticed both eyecaps came off. I notice however, that his eyes while dark and shiny seem to have wrinkles in them. What is this cause of this? Humidity 50-70% shed was awesome no residual. Thanks

Re: wrinkled eye caps
If you are positive that both eye-caps came off than what you are seeing is probably dented eyes which is due to low humidity. Just bump your humidity a little and it will go away.
Are you measuring humidity with a digital hygrometer?

Re: wrinkled eye caps
thanks for replying, yeah I'm using digital hygrometers, but I think that after time they get out of calibration, maybe I need to replace them. I used tons of moss and mist daily so I'll be suprised if my humidity is low but again its really dry here. I'll get new ones this weekend, thanks

Re: wrinkled eye caps
To help with my humidity the store I bought my ball python from told me to put syran wrap over the top of the screens (on the outside with air strips of 2" between pieces of plastic) to keep the humidity from escaping. I have a 40 gallon tank and use cocunut bark and I always have humidity in the cage now. Don't know if it's something you can use.?
