Re: POLL When do you up your temps?

This is my first year breeding so I don't offer much first hand experience. But I plan to raise temps towards the end of Feb. I have 9 out of my 12 females glowing already and one has ovulated. I know of another breeder near me in Orlando that doesnt lower temps and has perfect success with it. And we're in the florida heat too. He starts breeding in January so that may be why b/c I know it does get cooler with the fronts in January.

I don't lower my temps either. Natural room temps do seem to drop a little at night, but my themostats remain the same year round.

Mike - got your PM to modify your poll, but see that Derek took care of that for you!

Didn't lower the temps at all. First year breeding, though, so we'll see what happens (lots of locks, but waiting for what comes next).

Re: POLL When do you up your temps?

    Depends on the snake.
None of the snakes I'm breeding needed their temps lowered except for the female spider. She was not at all receptive and so I lowered her enclosure's temps and it did the trick. I plan on raising them back up when I am certain that she is gravid.

Re: POLL When do you up your temps?

I don't drop my temps but that's because my room temp + the rack are good conditions for breeding. My room gets really cold at night (where I keep my snakes) so I don't bother adjusting their heat.

I don't lower mine either. The temp in the room goes down enough that I don't have to lower the temps on the thermostat.

I actually go with the 15th. I am not sure why I chose that date, but it seems to work...
