lighting heat at night

I just got a red heat bulb the other day. They say that it does not disturb the snake's normal nocturnal behaviors. Also, it is very easy on my eyes too, and makes it really easy to see the snake moving around at night. I turn it off at night too because it is a heat light, and I like lowering the temp a few degrees at night, then turn it on in the morning and leave it on all day.

I would buy one that is designed for reptiles (got mine for around 10, this for a red heat light).

Also, you have to watch the humidity because my heat lamp is lowing it about 10%.

Do you measure your temps to make sure it's not too hot during the day, or cool at night? I suppose you have a UTH & bulb?

Yes. Bulbs definitely dry out the air.
