    Question on RI!!

I have read a lot of stuff talking about RI. Talking about that the snake will open its mouth. Is this always the case or what. I have noticed my BP sometimes when he is out, and I am awake LOL. He will yawn like. I have not heard him make any noise while breathing, but I have notice his sides moving while breathing( Note I know there will be body movement while breathing...Just giving Details) I have not noticed any bubbles or mucus or anything. When he opens his mouth I try to peek in LOL.. His mouth well looks like a mouth. Is there any concerns that I might notice in his mouth to help with future problem(Hope they do not happen). Thanks for any input!!!

    Re: Question on RI!!

First off on one of your other threads I noticed you asked if cig smoke was bad for your crested and bp. STOP smoking in the same confines as your animals, I dont think you would like it if someone put you in a box and hooked a diesel exhaust up to in and floored it , the smoke would prob make it a little harder for you to breathe. I would think your bp is safe if hes not showing the given signs of RI like the wheezing etc.

    I second that.

And snakes yawn regularly, nothing to worry about.

    Talking Re: Question on RI!!

For everyones information. I moved my BP from the living room into my bedroom, WHERE THERE IS NO SMOKE AT ALL. I do not smoke in my room one bit. Even though i smoke i can not stand to sleep in a room that smells like it.. So he should be alright...

    Re: Question on RI!!

The smoke will still travel through your heating/cooling system vents etc etc. It will also linger throughout your house for hours even if you cant smell it at all. If you want to continue being hard headed and not listen to ppl with plenty of experience with these animals when you are asking for advice thats your choice. I am not trying to be an a** by no means but I really think that you are putting them at risk if not now then down the road, and trying to save you a hassle.

    Re: Question on RI!!

Some BPs yawn regularly...especially right after you get them out of the cage...my Normal does it all the time, and he doesn't have an RI, and never has.
