Re: Have you ever seen this before???
Interesting. So, the first question I have is..... There are sometimes a short row (2-3) of small pits along the bottom jaw right back at the crook of the mouth. Does this girl have those? (Can't tell from your pic) If not, I would guess that the 'pits' on her chin were remnants of that line that missed their cue and developed in the wrong locale. Just a theory......

Re: Have you ever seen this before???
Heather,
This looks very similar to something I have seen alot in my hatchlings up to sub adults. My first question to you would be what type of rack are they in? I ask, because almost every hatchling that I have in my ARS racks have this (yet the ones in my homemade melamine racks do not). My theory on it is that the snakes rub on the holes on the metal that forms the top of the tub in a pre-fabbed metal type rack. I have often opened tubs, and found the snakes with their heads up to the top of the tub as if testing the air coming through the holes. I have found that once I move an animal out of those type racks, and put them in CB-70's (homemade racks again that do not have metal tops), that they marks go away.
Let me know if you need pics, and I can take some pics of that occuranc on some of my animals.
Hope that helps,

This was my thought as well.
Heather's Mutie Balls, guaranteed original.

Re: Have you ever seen this before???
She has no problems with her side face pits. They are there and kicking
She has been in an Animal Plastics rack for a while now, and to be honest, I JUST noticed this.
I've had her since she was a baby, and I never really noticed it. Maybe it wasn't there before? I honestly can't say...
I didn't check the inside of her mouth, so I would have to get back to you guys on that one...
Note that she had just shed, and I had helped her over these spots... They may make or break any theories, but to me, it just seems to uniform to be bites or the like.
It's just too wierd.
I can take more pics tonight.
