Reptiles on long flights? Shipping across the globe?

There is a high possibility that I will be moving to Australia next year in the spring (april 2010) so we have lots of time to figure out what we want to do (my boyfriend and I) But I honestly think that if there is no safe way to bring my bp, I will be completely distraught about leaving him behind and may have difficulty even leaving if he can't come.

I have no one that I can trust at the moment to take good care of him while I am gone and I would much prefer to bring him with me but this is a 32 hour flight switching planes a minimum of 3 times. Has anyone dealt with airlines and reptile policies? Any good/bad experiences? Should I except the inevitable and start a search for someone trustworthy enough to care for my baby boy? Dare I ship him? Any opinions are appreciated.

I thought about that too. Well that solves that. Hes a boy, so I'll have to start looking.

I think I am going to look at the states as an alternative destination....lol...I'll just make sure wherever we go has no regulations, laws, or bi-laws about pythons.

Anyways...you guys have plenty of Home Depots I could work at right? Yea intracompany visa....

I believe you will still have to go through a lot of stuff to get a CITES permit to bring in your BP. But at least if you move to the US instead of Australia you have switched from the realm of totally impossible to "just" a big hassle.

And yeah, there are plenty of Home Depots!
