    Re: herpstat thermostat?

overall I look at it this way we bought our herpstat pro with software. It was around 400 bucks it controls 3 racks and am waiting for another rack to fill it out. anyway it comes down to the fact its about 100 bucks a rack for thermostat. Plus you get really cool software pack that sends you a message if there is anyproblem with your rack be it to low or to high in temp. I haven't had any problems yet but if the heat went out in the house and my cages wouldn't get warm enough with 100% output i would be text at work so i would know there is a problem. seeing that my homes thermostat went out last week thankfully i was home but if i wasn't i would have found out. hopefully saving all the money i have put into my animals. I thought it was fairly cheap for a porportional thermostat. Considering everything.

You must have really big racks if you use one thermostat per rack!! I have four 32qt four drawer racks running off of one thermostat!!! What type of racks do you have?

I have the dual Herp Stat controlling most of my racks. I like them because they all allow me to run the the bottom of the ranks 2-3 degrees warmer because of room temp. Worth the money if you have that need.

    Re: herpstat thermostat?

I really like herpstat products. There are perfect. One thing to keep in mind. Picture how much 3in, 4in, or 11in flexwatt it will take to make 550 watts. I use 550 watts per channel to be on the safe side. That unit will last you a good while unless you have one of those fancy "money tree's" planted in the back yard.. lol

assumption: used for racks and considering herpstat II model.
