Size and how often to feed
I have 4 bp hatchlings, all growing fine even the runt of the litter, anyway I was wondering how often and what is the correct size to feed them. Currently they are all feeding well on mouse hoppers every 5-6 days and the runty one is on fuzzies.
Is this ok, the other problem I have is at the moment they only take live hoppers etc any tips on how to get them onto f/t or even pre killed have tried but not interested but as soon as a live one goes in they are straight onto them.

Re: Size and how often to feed
I feed mine about every 5 days til a year old. The size really just depends on the size of the snake. As long as its close in size to the widest part of the snakes body it should be fine.

You can try offering the snakes that are eating live hoppers a live fuzzie. After they are done with that meal, offer them a F/T fuzzie and see if they'll take it. Try that about 4 times and then try to offer a F/T hopper without a live mouse. I'm sure with your one ball that is eating live fuzzies. You can do that trick with just fuzzies instead of going down a size. You could also try rubbing a live mouse on a F/T. One thing i tried and it worked for my first attempt on my pinstripe was i would let the mouse defrost on top of his enclosure. It allowed the snake to smell that there was a mouse present. It got him real excited and when i warmed up the mouse with warm water, i offered and he took it without a problem. You can use a blow dryer as well to warm the head of the mouse. Hope this helps.

Re: Size and how often to feed
Thanks for your help guys, I managed to get 3 out of 4 to eat f/t I hope they stick with them now, was getting a bit concerned as my runty one takes hours before he eats his mouse and dont like to leave live in with him but whilst he has been on fuzzies its not been too bad.
The fourth one wasnt interested at all, I left him overnight and still wasnt interested but as soon as I put the live one in he got it in seconds. Will try again next time and maybe a bit more luck.
