Flexwatt Help
Ok so i just built my rack, nine slots, i have the sterilite 41 qt tubs...so when i buy flexwatt do i need to put it on each shelf, i know belly heats the best, but ive seen a pic of a guy who just laid a long strip along the back of it...is that because it will melt the tubs?? Or if i do put it on each shelf i have to buy insulators and clips for each shelf right?
i emailed bigappleherp and the guy jus said..youll need flexwatt and insulators...
so do i jus buy a foot of flexwatt and a set of the insulator connector things per shelf? do i need a to get a plug in to the wall cord per shelf to or can i wire them all to the same plug?
i know...im new...

Re: Flexwatt Help
I am not an expert on this but I can give you my experience/opinion:
Currently I am using wire shelving racks as a rack system. Because of my current situation when I ordered the Flexwatt for the belly heat, I asked them to put a plug on each piece. In my opinion this was a big mistake because it is just a lot of wires and plugs to deal with in what can be a limited amount of space.
I am in the process of building a dedicated snake rack and will either wire them in parallel (Separate pieces of Flexwatt) or I will buy one long piece and snake it (pardon the pun) up and over each shelf.
Also, when I ordered what I have now I also requested the insulating clips. Again, in my opinion I do not think they are needed and just get in the way.
** You did not mention how you will control the heat of the Flexwatt. This will get too hot if you plug in directly to an outlet. The best way is to use a thermostat but you can get away with just a (light) dimmer switch. Using either would leave you will NO worries about plastic melting.
I know others will probably be able to explain in more detail but I thought I would share my feelings on individual plugs.
Hope this helps
Jim
BTW: In Arizona? and where?
