Has anyone read Malcolm Gladwell's latest book Outliers? There's a lot of chance, and being at the right place at the right time, with just about anyone being uber successful. There will not be another Bill Gates and Microsoft within the tech industry - Gates became successful because of certain events in his life happened at a certain time, and same can be said for Microsoft. And the same can be said for those who started Cisco and every other tech company. Those events happened virtually at the same point in time and will not be repeated.
I think it directly relates to this conversation. There will never be another Microsoft. There will never be a new Ball Python Big Breeder. A series of events happened at a certain point of time to a certain group of people, which led them to be the Ball Python Big Breeders. That window of time has passed for anyone to join that group.
my 2 cents.
