    Red face bulbs

    im new n am trying to get my tanks all set up. I need to get my temps at a steady temp. im looking around on here but everyone uses these terms i have NOOO idea what they mean. *** UTH, CHE*** ?? help is greatly appreciated. im bout to get to the store to get bulbs. i live in ohio n it gets wayyyy cold at night so i am goin to need a light to keep on 24/7. i see people saying use UTH n CHE but idk what that is. i have a 20 gallon glass tank n the lamp but if someone could tell me what kinda, n watt bulb i would greatly appreciate it. thankyouu

    wow im dumb. k i now know what UTH n CHE mean. i apologizeee. but im still interested in everyones opinion.

    UTH = Under Tank Heater (Zoomeds makes the one I have)
    CHE = Ceramic Heat Emitter (spelling?) Use in place of a light bulb.

    I use a 50 watt bulb I think, I was using a 75 watt for a while.

    I use a UTH and a Lamp. not the CHE.

    Hey there, I'm in Ohio too! Gotta love this crappy ass weather & the fact that it sucks almost all your humidity right out of your enclosure. I'm new at this too, you'll learn alot here. I have 2 UTH's on either side since the light I had was zapping all my humidity. Make sure you have something that is controlling the output of your UTH's if you go that route (such as a light dimmer switch or a thermostat). Good luck!

    Yeah a thermostat is way nicer to have then a dimmer. Just set it and leave it.
