Actually if his eyes are still full blue I would leave it in.

By the time he goes through the blue and the clear eyed stage that follows he should be fairly used to it and might be using it to help himself shed.

I agree it is worth trying to adjust the humidity in the full enclosure though - if you post pictures and descriptions of your tank we might be able to sujest thigns that would help with that.
