Are you open to suggestions?

Re: My new BP, AND his setup
Okay. Cool.
You are off to a *great* start!! That is very good!!!
I would make just a couple of changes and additions~~~
- I'd get another hide for the cool side as well. This way the snake can thermoregulate and have his security issues met.
- I'd make darn sure that the hide you have in there now doesn't get too hot!! It looks like it's metal and so could really heat up!!! Ouch!!
- I don't see how you are measuring temps and humidity within the environment. Many people use the digital Acu-Rite thermometer/hygrometer for this (Lowe's for $12).
- The water bowl is really huge! Is this to help humidity?
- You might want to think about a UTH and get rid of the lamp. Lamps kill humidity. OR, you could keep the lamp and really foil and then duct tape the heck out of the screen top.
- I would use something dark to cover the sides and the back of the tank. This will increase the security of the snake. If where the tank is is cold, you could cover the sides and back with something that is insulating; otherwise, just dark paper will work well!
- Ooops! My bad!! I see a stick on dial type gauge. Sadly, while pet stores recommend them, they are not very accurate at all. Also, you have it stuck way up high and your snake lives way down low!!
So, what do you think? Like I said, you're off to a great start; just some tweaks is all you need to make your snake content and healthy!!

Re: My new BP, AND his setup
Hey, what's that house or building thing reflected in the hide?? Can you get a picture of that?? Crazy, I know, but I'm still designing our house at the ranch and I want to see something.....

Re: My new BP, AND his setup
yes,, I appreciate the comment on a great start , but i had a stick on thermo, and I went and got a probe thermo from Petsmart it is stuck up high but, the cable is ran down in the substrate, I know i need to get another hide, I am working on that, I also have a branch from outside that I am going to disinfect. I also am working on getting a different bowl. The hide I have now is actually a hard cardboard... I also have a UTH the bulb is just for extra heat if needed... It is also low wattage. ( good for personal viewing at night so i can keep all lights off in the house for the day night cycle... any other info or help is appreciated
