    color change question

I have two baby geckos... got them last week in Atlanta.

Question is, each morning they are changing to a super light color... It honestly looks like there is no way they are the same lizards. that is how big of a color change it is. Why does this happen? are they getting too cold at night, or is it normal for that big aof a change at night?

    Re: color change question

They are more active at night. During the day, they sleep and their metabolism and blood flow slows, causing the pale coloration. This is my understanding of it.

Age also brings on color change. My pin stripe was a light tan/grey baby. Had no clue it was a pin.

    Re: color change question

All crested geckos experience daytime-dependent color change. All of mine "fire up" at night or during handling during the daytime.

I wish I hadn't lost my camera, my harlequin is INCREDIBLY different between daytime snoozes and when he's fired up.. goes between very light and pale to almost black.
