My girl is eating again ! Thanks to all !

After exhausting all possibilities and trying many different ways with F/T. Chicken broth, warm water , jiggling it to the left, then to the right (mouse macarena). I even started making chirping sounds like a mouse ! (jst kidding) . And nothing. It might as well been a bologna sandwich.

I tried one more time with F/T and nothing. So i put in a live hopper, 2 seconds later, YAHTZEE !!! Struck in seconds. Man, what a relief.
So i'm going to feed live til shes "up and running" then try and reintroduce F/T here and there.

Thanks to all for the advice. Ant the Vets for their patience.

Me personally, i'd just feed live from now on so you don't have that issue anymore. If you only have 1 snake, feeding live isn't a problem.

    That's just my opinion.

    Congrats though!! WooHoo!

If you prefer to feed F/T later on, don't give up. Either way is just as good. It's the keeper's preference.

I agree. I only have 3 snakes - 2 bp's and a hognose. The bp's eat live because they ate live before I got them. So, I didn't try switching. We used to "stun" the rat before giving it (read all the bad stuff about feeding live) but now, I don't even do that anymore. My bp's are efficient predators plus we supervise. I raise my own rats now so it works perfect. Then I got a hognose. The store fed him live before but the store owner said he's a finicky eater - would go on months without eating. So, I read up on them and found out they're opportunistic feeders, so my husband pre-kills the rat before giving it to him and he never missed a meal since. So, my opinion is, do whatever your snake prefers.

Now, if this was a British forum, I would have been 'rassed for feeding live. They really come down hard on live feeders there.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
