    Very nice looking girl.

While I'll be the first to admit Latrodectus is in general, a docile genus. It is a far from good idea to hold them with your bare hands.

All wild animals/insects are unpredictable by nature. The difference between her and most other species is; a simple mistake can cost you greatly.

It's also not a very good idea to send the impression to other people that this sort of action is acceptable.

I don't think they're deadly to healthy adults, unless you're allergic

    Re: My black Widow

    He is correct....almost

They can bite....especially the females. The males are the ones that cannot bite.

The amount of venom they deliver is the bullet point that determines life or death. You will be in A LOT of pain and discomfort, but 98% of the time, you wont die, unless allergies are a factor. Even BEFORE antivenom, only 15% died...........

    just sayin

    Re: My black Widow

He's posting this same thread on multiple forums, with the same answer excusing his actions.

Imo, Latrodectus should never be free handled. Given, I have seen people free handle more dangerous species, but it is irresponsible. They are dangerous, and even if it does not kill you (which it most likely will not), their bite can inflict permanent damage.

Same thread he posted here, same answers he gave here.
