    pick-ups from Sunday's show!

So, I've been debating which new BPs to get since, you know, you can't have just one! I got these two little cuties at the Lake County Reptile show in Antioch, IL, last Sunday. They are both from Jim at SW Reptile, a local WI breeder, and though I think I got a good deal on them, I'm nearly broke now

Here is the 08 female spider, which I think I'm going to call Itsy. I always told myself I'd never get a spider because of the wobbles thing, but I saw her incredibly high white sides and the yellow, I just couldn't resist. I noticed her head shaking a bit when I first brought her home and was putting her in her tub, but haven't seen it since now that she's settled down. She does move differently than the others do, which will take a while to get used to.

And here is the 08 male mojave, who is as of yet un-named. Look at his awesome blushing!!! I've seen pastels that don't have that much blushing! He said this is the nicest male mojave he produced this year, and I think he's adorable. This guy is extra laid-back.

They got to live in a ghetto enclosure for a night while I awaited their flexwatt and got some nice tubs. I spent Monday night wiring the flexwatt and drilling the tubs and making hides, and they rewarded my efforts by pooing in the exact same places in their tubs that night! I guess that means they're happy? haha!

And, here are some pictures of Penelope, my 07 pinstripe female, hanging out and being adorable! I got her from a WI breeder, but she was produced by Ben Siegel.

I love this shot, but it was right before she shed...will have to take another!

I'll post some tub pictures later, and some better photos of the babies. I snapped these real fast when I got home Sunday night and I didn't want to stress them too much. I'm so happy to have them, I could squeal It's been hard leaving them alone this week so they can settle in! I'm going to be out of town this weekend for three days, but when I get back I'm going to thaw some rats for everyone. They're all hungry now, starting to cruise for food and peeking their heads out of their hideboxes when I open the tubs. Hopefully this weekend Ill also be building my rack, which will make things easier too.

Very nice looking animals, and the start of a great collection. Congrats on your new additions. You will not be disappointed with your Spider pick-up. Despite the potential wobble issue, they are some of the most curious and mild tempered Ball Pythons I own. I have really enjoyed their personality.

Great looking animals! I really like the spider and the pin! I dont understand what ppl's hype up is about the wobbles. I honestly would be more concerned with something like kinks in some of the caramel albino's.

Agreed. So much has been made of the "wobble" but the simple fact is if it's a spider it's going to act weird. Me personally I LOVE spiders!

Those are some great looking snakes there man! So what are your future plans breeding wise? You've got my group covered there man I'm hoping to find either a really nice pin or a great looking mojo just like those at White Plains next weekend. I can't wait!

    Re: pick-ups from Sunday's show!

I never used to pay much attention to pins until I got Penelope a month ago, and now I am in love with them and all the pin morphs! I really think I want to stick with pinstripes as my base morph and make combos from there. There is a lot of potential and other than BHB, no one is working super heavily with many pinstripe morphs.

The pin supposedly locked with a pewter four times in mid-late November, but I don't think she took. I hope not, the breeder said she was over 1100 grams at the time and that's too small to be bred, in my opinion. It would be neat though: pewter x pin has a TON of possibilities for morphs hatching out in a single clutch. My plans for her are to hopefully pair her with the mojave next season and try for some jigsaws, pins, and mojaves. In a few years when the spider is ready I'll pair her with the mojave to try and produce the mojave spiders. I would like to snag a bright yellow adult male pastel and another 07/08 female of some morph (preferably pin, lesser, or pewter) next season, but for now this is where things stand. It's exciting! Part of me wants my babies to stay small, but then another part of me can't wait to see them grow up!
