I've seen survivor man kill rattle snakes and other predators on his show too. And he doesn't have a camera crew but he can call in his crew to come get him if he thinks he can't go any further - so he doesn't really need to kill to survive either.

I think I am always amazed when it comes out that a *reality* show (reality does not exist once you add a camera) is bogus.

TV lies. That is its job. Ads are lies, and shows are simply vehicles for ad placement and nothing more.
