Watch Where You Buy Your Animals From!

    Hi guys,
Just wanted to share my thoughts on "Why you should only buy animals from Reputable Breeders". Recently, a friend of mine bought 2 red blood pythons from LLL Reptile 3 weeks ago,
here is the vid of him setting them up.

"Boids007: New Snakes & Setting up their Cage" (12/19/08)
YouTube - New Snakes & Setting up their Cage

And within a 2 week period, he had found that the bloods were sick:

    "Boids007:My Bloods are Sick"(1/2/09)
YouTube - My Bloods are Sick

And within a week after that, one of them had died of a respiratory infection:

    "Boids007:R.I.P Circe (Blood Python)"(1/11/09)
YouTube - R.I.P Circe (Blood Python)

Thankfully, the one that is still ALIVE is going to be taken to a vet to get antibiotics for his respiratory infection. Could he have taken action about this problem sooner? Of course he could, and probably could have saved the first snakes life, but why would you want to take in these problems in the first place? Next time you buy an animal, PLEASE do research on the places that are Reputable and places you should stay away from! This is a very good example why you should only buy your animals from Reputable Breeders...

Bloods are hearty animals for the most part, as long as they're setup right.

They're not as forgiving as ball pythons or other pythons for that matter. i would think in a poorly setup enclosure you could easily kill an animal in 2 weeks.

What was the enclosure setup like. Temperatures and humidity etc etc...

I've also not heard alot of good things about LLL and won't buy from them. Sad thing is that people see that $100 price tag and buy a cheap animal. You kind of get what you pay for sometimes. Spend the extra money and buy healthy animals from reputable people.

Oh im not sure about the specifics as it wasn't my animal. But its seems all his other snakes are doing fine, and are being well taken care of. He's had all of them for a while now and none have become sick on him...

LLL does not produce most of their reptiles, the last time I asked about their leos they said the people they got theirs from did not give them what temp they incubated at for the sex of the leos. It gos to show buy from people well known, and only if you can see the animals first. Im no good with bloods but id have someone look at their enclosure, im pretty sure that they need very high humidity and heat lamps like they have suck the humidity right out.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Yea, anything packaged up is fine, it's just that many of their animals are WC, have disease, Mites, and a whole bunch of other problems... Someone i know has actually been in there store, and said it's terrible & doesn't look clean! I don't want to give out names for sake of privacy...
