    pine desk

    since pine is bad for snakes what about treated pine furniture???... i recently moved into a new room with all pine furniture ... do u think it would hurt the snake to let her roam around on the desk ??

    As long as the furniture is made from kiln dried pine it will be fine. I would think that all furniture is made from kiln dried lumber. The easy way to tell is to sniff it. If it has a very strong odor then it may not be ok....but like I said, I can't imagine furniture being made with raw pine straight from the tree.

    The reason pine shavings are bad for snakes is the vapors they give off.... because they are essentially cut and bagged with little other prep.
