Activity???
I bought a crestie at th expo in Pomona. I havent seen him moving around a all. I have not witnessed him eating or anything. I know they are nocturnal but he is always in the same spot when i check on him in the mornings as the night before. I have only handled him once since I got him and that was to clean out his tank. Anyone have any inpt on this or am I just being paranoid. My last crestie never ate for me and died shortly after aquiring it also. Thanks.

Re: Activity???
What are you feeding the little guy? What are you keeping him on? These guys are up around 10 at night and sleep around 4 in the morning and all day. Mine are up short periods threw out the day. Most me nocturnal species aren't as nocturnal as though. Most of my pets are called that and wake up around dusk, stay up until around 1 then sleep and get back up towards dawn.

Re: Activity???
Well I have him in a 10g tank setting on its on its side for more height. I have assorted plastic plants and a big piece of grape vine probably 1 1/2 inches in diameter. I also have a water bowl in the bottom of the tank. I will spray his tank once in the morning and if needed once at night. Temps are anywhere from 68-80 in my room. I dont have a light for a photo period because my room gets plenty of light during the day but no sun shines on the tank directly. Right now I am feeding small-med crickets and crested gecko diet stuff. I am using the t-rex one but ordered some other stuff from thecrestedgecko.com (wish i would have remembered at the expo I walked past their table 20 times lol.)

Re: Activity???
one of my cresties is ALWAYS in the same spot, on the same branch. However i know he moves because i take him out, put him somewhere else, and he'll explore a bit, until he decides to go "home" to his special branch. I know he eats too because he poops, that is the best way to tell that a gecko is eating.

Re: Activity???
I am probably just being paranoid. I just noticed a few minutes ago that he is shedding maybe thats why he hasnt been moving around. As for pooping I havent seen anything in his tank as of yet but then again theres alot of leaves and branches in there. I have also been offering some smashed up apples and some banana baby food. He doesnt seen interested in the baby food though so im gonna try a few others.

Re: Activity???
If your worried about him eating, put a little bit of food on his nose and he'll lick it off.
I don't have a water bowl. I just spray twice a day because that is how they get their water, and they may drown in them. (so I've heard).
They generally don't move much, it's not unusual, at least from what I've seen. :]

Re: Activity???
Biggest indicators that he is eating is
1) Lick marks in the slurry.
2) Poop.
If he is eating, I wouldnt worry to much about it.
I also offer a water dish all the time. I use a bottle cap from a 1-liter pop bottle, and usually use milk caps or pop bottle caps for food.

Re: Activity???
Let me try and stray you away from baby food. It's very high in sugar which turns into fat. CGD is the way to go! I think you got repashy, if that's the name you're looking for. I just buy the 1.75 oz t rex bottles. They last about a month and are only 5 bucks. I feed crickets about once a month dusted with D3.

I keep mine out of my bedroom. I slept out in the room with their cages a few nights to see if I could catch them being active, but they're pretty silent. Sometimes I peek in on them during the night though, and find them elsewhere than their usual spot. Last night was a first, I actually caught my biggest girl in the act of actually drinking from her water dish I always assumed she got enough from the couple of daily mistings, but I guess that's what the water dish is there for.
