thytempet's ideas are pretty good, I hadn't even thought about substrate being an issue.

As stated previously: STERILE. Everything should be as sterile as possible. Mammal urine luckily is sterile(can be used to clean wounds in the wild in a pinch in fact, from what I've read), but I don't know about snake urine/urates, so get any excrement removed asap when it appears.
