    A White Line?

Ok well I been lookin around random classified ads and such to see if anyone was getting rid any ball pythons that particularly caught my interest. There were lots of people getting rid or normal babies and such. but i saw an ad for a "3 1/2 ft BP" so i checked it just cuz i was bored. And ended up emailing her and asked for pics and said she had none, but she informed me it was a beautiful snake with a white tail that she had never seen on any snake before?? i asked her to describe it and she told me its a 4in long white line from the tip of its tail up its back? She said she is going to try and get me a pic tomorrow. So ill post it if i get. But just curious to see if any of yall might have seen this before? Yall are the pros, lmk what you think. It maybe have a little morph to it, or its normal and im just not the brightest crayon in the box, or maybe the owner has eye trouble?

If it is just a stripe, it may be the remnants of a bad shed. If it means the last 4 inches of the snake is white, then it is probably a piebald.

    Re: A White Line?

I thought piebald at first because she said its whole tail was white, then when i asked her how much of it was white at the end she said a 4in white line? idk, would a bad shed leave a mark permanently like that though?

or if it has a normal pattern with the white it could be a ringer

    Re: A White Line?

I dont think it would be permanent, but we had a little bit of a rough spot on our bp take a few weeks to heal. She shed fine, but a couple of days after, like 2-3 inches on her back got really dehydrated....just that stripe and nothing else...made it look kind of chalky white until it got back to normal.

    Re: A White Line?

I was actually gonna ask about the ringer next, idk much about them at all. Im not good at all at spotting traits and such on a snake.

No pic, the owner said shed try and have me one tomorrow (monday)

Ya i know what you mean with the chalky looking affect but the way she talked about it, it had always been there and she says its "beautiful"

    Re: A White Line?

if its not far I'd say its atleast worth a drive to see it. If others think it might be worth while like you are you might be beat to it. I've seen someone giving a pied away for free but was to late to get it

    Re: A White Line?

well im not to worried about anyone beatin me to it. her ad just says 3 1/2 ft ball python, good eater and friendly pretty much. i didnt get any other info till i emailed her. and there was probably a dozen other normals on there. but its a 2.5hr drive from me. so im gonna wait and get a pick before i make the drive. and get some more opions from yall. but its under 100 bucks so if it looks like it might be somethin ill just go get. and if it turns out to just be a normal so be it. i dont mind having another snake
