Refusing F/T
Has anybody noticed that snakes that refuse to eat F/T pass the trait on to their offspring? Or does it seems to be a random thing?

Re: Refusing F/T
they just need to be train to eat F/T.
try this.. get two feeders, smaller than what you usually feed.
feed the 1st one, live. after it swallow, offer it the F/T.
do this again on next feeding, until the 6-feeding. on the 7th, try offer a f/t staight away..
i did this, and im not longer feeding live.

Re: Refusing F/T
As of yet, I have not had any problem converting live feeding BPs to F/T, regardless of how long they had previously been feeding live. So I would have to say it is a matter of conditioning them (the proper way) to accepting F/T and not related to genetics.

I have started this with my BP and the first time I did it she ate the live feedeer and the F/T rat. The second time, last night she ate the live feeder but didnt want anything to do with the F/T. Hopefully shell eat both next time. Is their any suggestions any body mught have, I want to get both my snakes on F/T, right now only my Redtail is.

Re: Refusing F/T
I think it might be genetic in some way. I don't really understand why snakes do eat frozen/thawed food anyways, I have thought about it before and thought it might be some evidence for snakes being scavengers or eating animals that have died already.

What are you methods of converting a live feeder to F/T. I'm about to get a Orange Ghost who is eating live medium Mice and I can honestly only really offer him F/T. Any Tips?
