most farms arent the nicest places in the world whether its snakes, turtles, crocs, pigs, cows, chickens, rodents, etc. if you want these farms to be all lovey dovey with the critters they raise, be prepared to pay 5x what you pay now due to the much higher expenses and wages.

I don't know how terrible conditons are in African BP farms, but I do not think it is 'impractical' to expect that animals raised in farms (& here I am referring to the chickens stuck in tiny compartments, the cows that are not able to turn around) be treated humanely. I, for one, am willing (& do) pay higher prices to purchase from establishments that treat their farm animals in a humane fashion.

No, they are not children. They are 'fricken' snakes. They are living, breathing creatures that have no say in the way they are cared for. I think it is owed to them to offer them the best possible care. The mentality that they are just 'fricken' snakes & should not receive the care they deserve is exactly what the reptile world needs less of.
