Keeping glass tanks warm during winter!
Hey all,
My room gets pretty cold during winter, sometimes down to 65F, although it rarely gets that cold.
I'm waiting for an AP cage for my BP, but for now he's in a glass tank.
Yesterday, I covered the back and sides with black paper, and then covered the back, sides, and screen top with aluminum foil, shiny side down of course. The temperature on the cool side stayed up to 75!
I hope this helps those with glass tanks in cold rooms...

Don't use paper. Use Foam Board.. Helps a lot more.

Thanks for the tip. I have insulation around 3 sides of my tank - that works pretty well too.

I suppose the best way is black paper first (so the snake feels more secure), then foam board, then aluminum foil.
I'm only doing this temporarily since my cage is probably shipping this week.

Reflectix works great, you can pick it at ace hardware for $1.50 a ft. In my opinion the best insulation around.

I've been thinking about that... How much would the oil cost?

Humm... that will kill your humidity though.
