No, they will be fine together all kept in the same room. The vet will give you some antibiotics for the scale rot. It's not contagious, just happens due to poor husbandry.

you can rub it with some iodine on a paper towel to help keep it from spreading. but try not to get too much in the snakes heat pits or its mouth. a q-tip might be better.

haha. tid and qid aren't english either. they are abbreviations for latin terms. tid means three times a day and qid means four times a day.

Make sure to clean the subtract as soon as it gets dirty, a snake will scale rot should have a clean dry housing area. As said by another poster remove the water bowl he/she will be fine without water for a few days. There is also an ointment you can get to help heal that up faster, I haven't had a snake with scale rot in a while but I did have one male a few years ago my vet gave me the ointment I'll see if I can get the name for you.

I dealt with scale rot for a bit by soaking the snake in a dilluted betadine solution every day, then drying him and applying neosporin. In my case it was all over the belly.

For you since its only in a few spots I would recomend what a previous poster stated about applying iodine (or betadine is a little gentler) with a Q-tip. Then putting some neosporin in. make sure the neosporin is NON-MEDICATED, that means no painkiller, no +, no extra strength, just plain old neosporin. I don't know the exact reasons why but when I was getting help from Becky (SatanicIntention on BP.net) she was very clear about the type of neosporin to use.
