    May be a stupid question....but

I've read on this site about possible ways to bring mites home to your pet - it was stated that you can carry them home from a pet store or reptile show.

I have plans to go to a reptile show this coming weekend and wanted to know if I am putting my snake at risk by going there and then possibly bringing some thing home (mites/illness) - should I be concerned and what can be done to eliminate the worry??

    Thanks.

Best thing to do when coming back from a show/pet shop is before you even go near your animals change your clothes and take a nice long shower. That should eliminate just about any risk of bringing something unwanted home from the show. While you're at the show make sure that you use hand sanitizer (most vendors worth their crap should have some on their table) anytime you pick up an animal and that will reduce the risk also.

Your question was answered accurately above. I just wanted to add, there are no stupid questions, just stupid keepers who are afraid to ask questions.

Lol well that would work too Just not sure that the neighbors would appreciate all that you were doing for the sake of your reptiles

Thanks everyone for your responses - I will definitely change my clothes and shower before getting near my snake.
