    No poo!!

Neemo hasn't had a poo yet I have had him for almost month now, he has had 3 meals and 1 complete shed. Current temps are: amb. temp 79.8 cool side temp 82.4 warm side temp 92.3 humidity 61%, substrate aspen bedding 2 hides and water dish (pics in gallery), I fed him 2 days ago (2) med mice, he shed yesterday, I went to get him out of his tank and he hissed at me! something he has not done since I've had him. Could he be constipated? If so what do I do?

    Re: No poo!!

you sound like you are doing everything right. one thing i would suggest is that if you are feeding two mice to bump it up to one evenly weighted rat.
also a general rule that i have learned is that if they dont "go" after 3 feedings to stop feeding and wait for it. it should be soon.

    Re: No poo!!

is there a bulge at the tip of his tail near the BP's cloaca? If there is, that usually mean's that a big poo is coming lol. If you're really concerned, try soaking your snake in lukewarm water, sometimes this stimulates a bowel movement.

    Re: No poo!!

Ya that works. I would say 15-20 min., for sure no more than 30 minutes, and make sure that the water is shallow enough where your BP doesn't have to swim to keep his head afloat. I myself have never had an issue with this, all my snakes generally poo every shed, and once or twice in between. I've heard that this has worked for others though.

I know from experience that this works a little too well. Don't hold Neemo after the bath.

Why's that? I feed every week, regardless of how frequently they poo. It could just be that he's utilizing every bit of his prey with very little waste. In fact, I don't even track poo's any longer - they go when they're ready.

I wouldn't - just let him go when he's ready. No need to stress him out un-necessarily.

    Re: No poo!!

If he's a young, growing BP, he's prolly using almost all of what he eats. My '08 Normal didn't go for the first 4 weeks I had him. Now that he's on adult mice, he goes every 12-14 days.

    Re: No poo!!

Success!!!! It wasn't much but he passed it without difficulty, I know I may worry alittle too much he is an 04 and smaller than my 07, I just think his previous owner fed him when the mood struck him to, which doesn't seem very often, the owner said he was a picky eater and would only eat once a month, well I have had him on a 5 day schedule with out any problems of 1 med mouse, then graduated to 2 med mice, will be offering a large mouse or small rat on feeding day 2morrow
