    info on argus monitors

I have thought about getting an argus monitor for sometime on and have researched the animal. Most of the research I have come up with has little or nothing on the temperment and diet. I would like it very much if someone who has owned an adult argus for many years to reply. I currently own a adult male arg. b&w tegu so it is not like this is my first big lizard. Can you handle an argus? Do they bite a lot? Can you walk one on a leash with out it freaking out? Can you feed them things like ground turkey, chicken, and/or eggs?

No you cant hold an argus, or put it on a leash, all monitors are for looking at not really holding, etc. You should only feed them whole prey items for food depending on size (roaches, crickets, mice, small rats, chicks, fish, etc). They are very active monitors which need a huge cage depending on what you get (male or female and have a strong feeding response. A 3ft female can live in an 8x4 but a male at 4 ft+ is going to need a larger cage but it can also live in a 8x4 too but will be crapped.
just to give you an idea
not my pic next ones will be tho

They also going to need a good 18 to 24+ inches of dirt to dig

    hope that helps
