feeding???
i got a new ball python 16-18 inches.. male. i think hes from this year. im not sure what size mouse is too big or too small? could someone tell me a good size? or direct me to a lab mouse size chart id there is such a thing...

normally you should feed them 1.5x they're stomach width, atleast thats what I heard. my 08 babies(not sure birthdate but they're from this year) are on adult mice
Ball pythons: 1.2 pastel, 1.0 Black Pastel 1.0 mojave(green) 0.1 spider, 1.0 het pied, 1.0 het clown, 1.1 het albino, 0.1 pos het albino, 1.0 shatter, 0.2 normals, 0.1 reduced pattern, 0.3 dinkers
Corn snakes: 1.0 blood, 0.1 het blood, 0.1 snow, 0.0.1 reverse okeetee
Geckos: 2.1.2 crested gecko, 0.0.1 leopard gecko
Boas: 1.0.1 sand boas
Other: 1.1 mini australian shepherd, 2.0 cats

A regular small-medium adult mouse should do it.

Do you have a scale? I feed 10-15% of the snake's weight (up to about a 90g prey size.)

I select mice or rats that are long and thin. About the same size and the fattest part of the snakes body.

I'm pretty sure you actually don't want to feed mice/rats any bigger than the snakes diameter. Just equal or smaller.
For my 08's I feed larger rat pups (I say larger because they have varying sizes but the same name/price, so I just pick out the largest pups of the bunch)

1.0 Queenbee; 1.0 Spider; 1.0 Spider Het VPI Axanthic
1.0 Albino Cinny; 1.0 Albino Pin; 1.0 Butter Pastel
0.1 Het Axanthic; 0.2 Albino; 0.1 Pied
0.1 Pastave; 0.1 Pastel; 0.1 Butter
0.1 Super Vanilla Mojave
Others:
1.0 Kahl Albino BCI
1.0 Albino Anaconda Hognose
Mammals:
4.0 Kitties, 3.1 Doggos, 0.2 Horses
