Re: Herpstat Pro ?
Hey, another route you can take is to scrap that aquarium an go with a sterilite tub enclosure. They may not look the best, but they sure are cost effective, and if set up right will create an ideal enviroment for your snake as well. Aquariums tend to be hard to keep warm, and 4 heat pads doesn't really sound to efficent so I think this might be a good idea. Depending on the size of the snake 80-150g's 15qt, and anything bigger you can go with a 28qt, 32qt, or look online for sterilite cb70 tubs if you got a big snake. If the snake is small you want to keep it in a nice cozy, comfy home, nothing too large. I housed both my snakes in aquariums as well, and I live in upstate NY and it gets really cold and I was really having a hard time maintaing humidity level and temp levels. I baught a 28qt tub, poked holes in it using a soldering gun, baught a thermometer with a probe/hygrometer, thermostat(ESU), heat pad, and was good to go. In the aquarium she would eat sometimes, and sometimes she wouldn't, and she just displayed odd behavior and never seemed calm. Ever since I switched she has been pounding anything I throw at her, and seems to very comfortable. Are you having trouble with ambient temps, or what exactly? Happy Holidays!
