Eating - Still Alive

The store was out of hoppers so they gave me rat pinkies. The BP's didn't do a good job of squeezing and they both ate the still squealing pinkies.

Is that normal?

yup, it will happen.

After a move many many years ago, I had a hard time finding pet stores that carried feeders for snakes, and the only place I could find only had pinky mice, which my corn snake had outgrown not that long ago, but since that was what was available, I bought a couple and fed them live(in retrospect should have fed p/k if I had known the snake would just eat them without fully constricting, but I was 8 and didn't think about that possibility). The snake snorted down 2 of them, and you could still hear them squeeling inside the snake.. it made me sad

Being digested to death has to be one of the worst ways to go. Hopefully they suffocate before it beings to happens...
